what can cause my xbox360 AND computer to be overheating?

I’ve already had one computer die because it was overheating too much. Now my xbox360 is giving me the 2red lights, which is a sign of overheating. And my new computer’s fan is always running like the old one did before it died. By die, I mean it would turn itself off and on again, and when I decided it was done for it wouldn’t stay on for more than 5 minutes. They all have surge protectors, if that matters? What can I do to prevent this from happening?

You may have a high dust level in your house, check furnace filters.
Take them to a computer service place, & have them cleaned.
The biggest cause I have seen for overheating is failure to keep the case vents and processor heatsink clean of lint and dust buildup which block the airflow keeping it from cooling the processor and other components. Users should periodically use canned air to clean the lint and dust from case vents and processor heatsink. 2 – 4 times a year as appropriate.
DUST! it all clogs up and turns into fluff get yourself an air duster and a mini vac (the air duster is compressed air in a handheld can, the mini vac to vac it all up) blow the air duster through any ventilation holes in your xbox if you cannot open it, if you are comfortable with opening your pc case spray the air duster on every build up of dust (make sure your computer is off when you do this)
to clean your computer fans, close the case turn it on (so the fan spins) then spray the air duster across it then vac up the mess, that should do it
First, do you leave your xbox and computer on all day?
Second, check to make sure both fans are working.
Unplug the computer and xbox when ur done using them. They overheat because they use too much energy. When u unplug them it cuts off that source of energy and plus it could help reduce ur electricity bill.
Hope i helped.
GOD and JESUS love you but not always the things you so, so pray! HE has done miracles for me and can do the same for you.
