Apple ipad irant a Blunty3000 mega rant. Blunty rambles on a bit about the ipad, the press it’s been getting, and what it all means in his, most humble opinion
the joke about the iPad=Tampon is that apple makes so many iProducts that people are wondering what the next crazy thing will be: iChair, iDesk, iCar. That is why apple’s name for the iPad is so funny. It sounds like they are about to make an iTampon. Get it?
I think it’s a wast of money for the same amount of money you can get so much more power and still carry it around with you.
only thing I agree with you about is the grow up part at the start, which is a first. I usually agree completly with everything you say but not this time
@likemblonde If it comes to a choice between “original”… just becasue i want !!!ZOMG new SHINY!!! or a device I already KNOW will do what I want becasue I have a smaller, less powerful version already, I’ll choose the one I know will do what I want.
One more point – you can plug in your iPhone or iPod Nano into the USB adapter and transfer pictures and videos directly from it to your iPad just like any other digital camera.
1. 3G support includes GPS capability, which is worth consideration.
2. It is possible to use a bluetooth keyboard AND mouse on a jailbroken iPhone or iPod Touch, and it will certainly be possible on the iPad as well.
3. It is possible to multitask and even have a full unix terminal when jailbroken. This simply is too complex for the average user, but for power users, it works fantastic!
@Spoothead12 Plopping a full desktop “pointer & window” OS onto a small touch screen device simply does not work well. That’s been proven time and time again over the last EIGHT YEARS+ that such devices have existed and have utterly failed to gain any traction at all.
@Blunty3000 Because it’s unimpressive. People are “bitching about it’s capabilites because people wanted an actual Mac Tablet. Not a giant iPhone. And, if you already own an iPhon and a computer (and maybe even a kindle), this thing is useless. Please watch LoadingReadyRun’s iPotatoe video to get my point.
@turkeyman94 $499 is very affordable. The first CD players were 3-400 and DVD was around a grand when it came out and so was blu ray. And HD PVR’s were a grand also.
Just wondering Nate, what are you using to edit your vids?
Onto the iPad. I was one of the people that slated this thing something chronic when it was announced but then the more I thought about it the more I wanted one. In saying that I will still say its a glorified iPhone/iPod touch. If you love your iPhones and Touch but want a bigger screen then go for an iPad, otherwise stick with the gizmo you have. Flash would have been nice but not needed. Some review sites I use have flash players :/
The iPad might be useful for certain situations but it certaintly isn’t anything revolutionary like Apple pushes it. I also think you can’t justify the lack of flash in the current market either.
It really has no purpose that I can see that would justify the cost either. Overall it’s quite an average release for a company that has enough money to make something innovative.
It seems it’s ‘not’ for so many people. Who is it for? Also, there seemed to be a lot of rebutting of stupid arguments(which is always good), but where was the praise for the damn thing. It’s clear you’re a fanboy for Apple, why not tell us why this is good? I mean, you claim it’s not supposed to be a netbook replacement or a better version of an iPhone, so what is it? Another completely useless piece of technology?

@blunty3000 but instead of modifying something they already have, how about creating something else that could be more useful
nate, what model will you be getting? 16, 32, or 64gb? I am going with the 16 giger

@SMB1to3 And how is that a bad thing?
Its a giant ipod, u apple fanboy
But most sites that utilize flash hugely have there own ‘mobile sites’
(Reply to Blunty3000’s reply to GoodEyeSniper2113) Then why would you *WANT* an iPad to surf the web when you *HAVE* a perfectly fine computer?
uhh… iPhones cost way more than 100$…WAYYY more…
XP was not horrible at all blunty.
