Steve Mason, Bobby Ryan and Kris Versteeg! Congrats to all of them for a great year of hockey.
If you were in charge of handing it out who would you give it to of those three and why? (Reasoning needs to be better than just “because”)
Slider – Wheeler is not a finalist

Mason of Columbus, he got career numbers in his rookie year
Blake Wheeler has been great tough, smart and productive
Mason, he is the real reason the Jackets are in the playoffs. Led the NHL in shutouts, 2nd in GAA. Amazing numbers for a rookie.
Mason of Columbus, when a rookie goalie plays like that you got to give him the award unless a forward has a really amazing season which the other 2 guys did not.
Chris Mason oops.. Steve Mason
Mason, he proved he can be a top 5 goalie in the NHL and is also getting consideration for the Vezina and will likely be in the top 3 for that award as well. He is the only rookie that actually lead his team to a playoff spot and the numbers he got as rookie are unbelievable.
I will give it to Steve Mason who has been specatcular helping lead Columbus to a playoff birth.
I will say that I do believe Blake Wheeler WILL be a much better player than Kris Versteeg.
Mason! 10 shutouts in his rookie year!
