Would “Reduced venous flow related to chronic disease” be a good nursing diagnosis for hypertension? In my case study the patient has already been diagnosed with hypertension and coronary artery disease.

Hi MJ,
This nursing diagnosis can be improved. Try and think it out. Why would venous circulation be impaired when the patient has hypertension? Since there is a lot of blood in the arterial system then the venous system will get good amounts of blood to “return to the heart.”
A more appropriate nursing diagnosis would be, ” Increased arterial blood pressure related to impairment of arterial wall disorder”.
